God's Pain From Complaining

Focusing on God’s love is vast: because His love is endless. Worrying about the things that He hates is minimal: because those things are few. Seeking how to please God is crucial: because as people, we are prone to finding many ways to break His heart! Thankfully He is “slow to anger and rich in love...” We’ll look together in the book of Numbers and see three examples of our complaining nature: towards each other, towards God’s promises and towards God’s will. Such complaining does three things: It destroys the bonds of people, it keeps us from the promises of God and it ultimately will invoke God’s finality or wrath if we don’t turn from such behavior. But ultimately, these things combined do one thing that should grab our attention... they break God’s heart! Let’s spend some time this Sunday examining our hearts, learning from those before us and setting our hearts right with each other and with God. Let’s learn how to “let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable and pleasing in your sight, O Lord...” (Psalm 19:14)
