Day 9: John Mezzasalma

“Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow”. James 1:17

I have much to boast in the Lord about from the 2024 year. I am so thankful for what the Lord has done for me. This year has been a year of exceptional blessings.

Professionally, I earned the role of Chief Financial Officer at my company.

Personally, my family and I took the trip-of-a-lifetime to the Grand Canyon.  We saw 10 parks in 12 days!

My children are growing up and finding success for themselves.
Caleb has been training and working hard at basketball. He tried out for travel and middle school teams and made both!
Olivia has been doing rock climbing and decided to go out of her comfort zone and try Volleyball.
Leo was baptized in 2023 and continues to grow in his faith.
Micah graduated from pre-school and is now in kindergarten.

Tara and I are entering into a new season with our children. They are no longer babies who need constant tending to. We are finding a new stride where we can spend more time together and not have to worry about getting a babysitter.

And while this year has been a year of overt blessings, I’m reminded that good and tough things happen to both the just and unjust. I’ve had my share of tough years, where it seemed that blessings were far from me.  Now that I’m experiencing incredible blessings, it’s easy to fall in to the trap that I’ve somehow earned them and deserve them. But the truth is this; Every good and perfect gift is from God (James 1:17), not because of me. So I remember the bad and ugly times where I was challenged to remain faithful and thankful, and today I give thanks in my blessed circumstances, for in everything I give thanks because they are all God’s will for my life!

I thank the Lord and Boast in the lord for 2024!

Prayer
Lord, You are good to me. You are slow to anger and abounding in love. You show grace even when I don’t deserve it. You have blessed me in so many ways! I thank You for the blessings in life. Remind me that every good and perfect gift is from You. I thank You! I worship You! I submit to You!  In Jesus’ name, Amen!
